Demo of the Garmin Edge 705 at CES

Garmin let us lookat their latest cycling-specific GPS for us at CES. The Garmin Edge 705 replaces the Edge 305 and adds a bunch of nifty features, most notably a color screen. There's plenty of info in our interview, which you can see after the break.
The Edge 705 is the same device used by pro riders around the globe. It allows you to track your heart rate, power meter, cadence, speed, distance, lap times, average speed, elevation data, and so on. Another notable feature is the mapping capabilities not found on its predecessor. With this, the 705 can now give turn by turn directions, whether you're on the streets or on the trails. All you need to do is load the additional maps from Garmin's preloaded data cards.
The data collected by the 705 can also be swapped wirelessly between other Edge units. Now you can share your rides with your friends, or better yet, prove that you did in fact beat their best time on the impossible local hill climb.
The Garmin Edge 705 won't turn you into Lance Armstrong, but it will let you know just how much better he is than you.
