Garmin Oregon 300

With all of its features, the Garmin Oregon is sure to please just about anyone who is thinking about getting a GPS.

The Oregon’s desing is sleek, without any extra buttons, grooves, or bulk. The Oregon’s most prominent feature is its touch screen interface. This allows Garmin to build a larger screen into the Oregon since precious real estate isn’t wasted on buttons and other controls.

You can take the Oregon just about anywhere you go. The Oregon 300 features a waterproof, shockproof, and bump-proof chassis. The Oregon is as rugged as you are.

Standout Features

• Touch screen

• Wireless capability

• Geocaching GPX file support

• WAAS enabled

Features

The Oregon’s biggest draw is its touch screen interface. Simply touch the screen to perform all the various functions of the GPS. The large 3 inch diagonal screen can be easily seen, even in sunlight.

Share your tracks with friends instantly. Now you don’t need a computer to share information. You can connect wirelessly to other Oregon users and share data. This can be especially useful for geocaching groups. You can send the information to every member of the party so that all can search.

Not only can you search for geocaches with the Garmin Oregon 300. You can also store the GPX file data along with the descriptions and hints for the geocache. This eliminates the need to print out pages of geocahces to take with you when you go searching.

With its WAAS enabled receiver, the Garmin Oregon 300 can locate and lock onto satellites quickly. This even allows it to work well when using it in dense tree cover or in urban settings.

The built in microSD card reader allows you to add additional maps. With street navigation software, the Garmin Oregon turns into a powerful street navigator. Load the topo software and you have an equally powerful hiking GPS.
